The Importance of Diversity Leadership, Equity and Training Diversity Leadership, Equity and Training support Canada's Employment Equity Act that calls for the elimination of barriers for improving the employability of diverse groups present in Canada's changing labour force. Aboriginals, Africans, people of colour, women, people with disabilities and people with different sexual orientations contribute creative and flexible leadership styles within equitable and diverse organizations or workplaces. The growing immigrant population in Canada encourages diversity of different cultural, ethnic and linguistic makeup or cultural pluralism with its various differences and tensions. Diversity leadership style and diverse working relationships are therefore central to what immigrants bring to Canada's workplace. It is therefore important to create a business case for diversity leadership and the awareness of diverse relationships within organizations for enhancing the social and economic viability of Canada. Organizations and businesses should value diversity in all its forms including innovation, creativity and quality for stimulating profits. Diversity leadership is more than managing difference. It is about inclusion and embracing globalization through its diverse labour force. Companies need employee diversity to remain globally competitive and innovative.
DIVERSITY LEADERSHIP MEANS GLOBALLY COMPETITIVE AND INNOVATIVE |
