About the Doc

Born in Trinidad and Tobago and a resident of Toronto, Canada for over 15 years, Dr. Marilyn J is an independent scholar, educator, consultant and cultural critic trained in the areas of diversity leadership, equity, education and workplace issues. Most importantly, as an advocate for equity, I am committed to social justice where my expertise is central to the cultural resistance of African Canadian Women’s Leadership. My research on diversity leadership challenges the practice of using a universal paradigm on leadership without acknowledging differences and inclusion.

Dr. Marilyn Johncilla recently found Canadian Academy for Diversity Leadership. CADL™ brings together practitioners of diversity leadership to network and share ideas.

CADL™ is a flagship program launched in 2010 where leaders learn and share knowledge about diversity leadership in the workplace, organizations and communities. We recognize that corporate responsibility encourages diversity leadership through inclusion because of our increasingly diverse workplace of immigrants, women, differently abled people, people of color and people with different sexual orientations. We at CADL™ encourage exploring diversity leadership talent through discussions, research, published articles, videos, courses, workshops, training, etc. CADL™ also aims to make diversity leadership visible through talented practitioners and role models.
